The Equiano Foundation

The Equiano Foundation seeks to accomplish its goals through the following three departments:

The Foundation's Educational department focuses on secondary and college levels:

• Putting The Interesting Narrative onto audio tape
• Creating a historical interactive CD ROM of The Interesting Narrative
• Internet exposure through this web page, with an expanding collection of articles and access to a chat room discussing Black History
• Production of a full length documentary on the travels of Olaudah Equiano

The Foundation's Literary department focuses on:

• A quarterly newsletter consisting of articles from students and scholars of Black History and its relevance to contemporary issues
• An annual Journal
• Symposia and conference presentations on intellectual and scholarly exchange

The Foundation's Promotional department focuses on:

• A dramatized 35 mm feature film based on the life of Olaudah Equiano
• The creation of educational toys celebrating Equiano's importance to Black history
• Merchandising t-shirts, etc.
